Gothenburg Sound AB was founded 1966 by the four members of the Beachers, a pop group from Gothenburg, Sweden who wanted to establish a small recording studio in Gothenburg for the growing number of local bands.
The first attempt was a small room with walls covered with "egg cartons" and low frequency "slotted panel" resonance absorbers covering the windows next to the Cue Club in Gothenburg.. After a fire 1969 in a adjacent part of the house, new larger rooms were found at Kungstorget where also more efforts was made to create better studio acoustics. A large number of Gothenburg rock bands made demo tape recordings in the studio with semi-professional equpment without multi-channel recording and direct mixing.
